2.1 Devices managed by HDLM

Devices that can and cannot be managed by HDLM are shown below. The devices that can be managed by HDLM are called HDLM management-target devices.

Devices that HDLM can manage:

SCSI devices for Hitachi storage subsystems

Hitachi storage subsystem command devices, such as Hitachi RAID Manager command devices

EMC DMX series, EMC CX series, and HP EVA series
However, only the following OSs can manage the EMC DMX series ,EMC CX series, and HP EVA series:
- Windows Server 2003 (IA32) SP1 or later
- Windows Server 2003 (IPF) SP1 or later

Devices that HDLM cannot manage:

SCSI devices other than those for Hitachi storage subsystems (other than the EMC DMX series ,EMC CX series, and HP EVA series)

Built-in disks in a host

Devices other than disks (tape devices, etc.)
