The Array List Window

This help page describes the Array List window and explains its features and controls. It contains the following topics:

This help page is provided to help you become familiar with the physical features Navigator 2 and the windows it contains. It is not meant to explain how to accomplish tasks with this window. See the help pages Introducing Storage Navigator and Getting Started for that information.

When you launch Navigator 2, the Storage Navigator Array List window (shown here) is displayed. When you launch Navigator 2 for the fist time, there will not be any arrays displayed in the Arrays table as shown here. The Add Array wizard will start automatically and guide you through the procedure to add one or more arrays to Navigator 2. Then you will see the arrays listed as shown here. See the Getting Started help page for more information on Navigator 2 startup.

Item	Function
1 - Menu Bar	The menu bar contains the File, Go, and Help menus. These are described in the table following this one.
2. Application Bar	This bar contains action buttons that vary with the selected Navigator 2 operation.
3. Login Status Log Out button	Displays the name of the current user and provides a button to log out of Navigator 2.
4. Application Window	Describes the application pane on the right side of the main window. Describes each of the applications that can be accessed via this pane (Subsystems, Administration, and Settings) and briefly explain what each does.
5. Status Bar	This a summary area that provides status and key information about the currently selected items.
6. Explorer Menu	Describes the explorer pane on the left side of the window and explain how to use it
7. Action Buttons	These action buttons vary according to the information table above them.

Menu	Function
File	Contains the Close and Exit menu items. Both accomplish the same task.
Go	Launches the ACE tool
Help	Contains two menu items. See the following table.

Menu Item	Function
About	Displays the revision of Navigator 2
Help	Launches this help system

Action Buttons (back to top)

Button	Function
Reboot Array(1)	Restarts the operating system of the selected array.
Show and Configure Array(1)	Displays the Array properties window for the selected array
Add Array	Launches the Add Array wizard.
Edit Array(1)	Opens the Edit Array dialog box
Remove Array(1)	Un-registers the selected array from Navigator and removes the array name from the list of arrays in this window.
Filter	Opens the Filter dialog box

Note 1: If Password Protection is enabled on the selected array, you will be required to log in to the array to execute this function.
