This help page is provided to help you become familiar with the physical features of this window and the information it contains. It is not meant to explain how to accomplish tasks with this window. See the help pages Introducing Storage Navigator and Getting Started for that information.
To display the Array Properties window:
In the Array List window, select an array by either clicking once on the name of the array or by clicking the next to the array name and then clicking Show and Configure Array.
When you select an array, Navigator 2 accesses the array, reads the data on it, and then displays the data in this window. Note that it can take several seconds for the window to display, depending on how busy the LAN is and how busy the array is.
The following illustration shows the Array Properties window. The descriptions below refer to the numbers in the illustration. The explorer menu is described on the Array List Window help page.
The Array Settings tree contains menus and links to the windows and dialog boxes that you use to accomplish most of the tasks to set up and configure an array. These tasks are note done as often as the tasks accessed by the icons in the Common Array Task area, and may be more complicated or drill down to more detailed information. Each item i the menu has a detailed help page that describes the task(s) you can accomplish with the selections in the menu and provides step-by-step instructions to accomplish each task.
The Summary area in this window lists the main features of the selected array.
The Common Array Task area contains a set if icons which launch the wizards or dialog boxes that help you accomplish the tasks which are normally done when setting up and configuring an array. These tasks are explained in detail in the Common Array Tasks help page.
