Advanced Settings

This help page provides information to guide you through the features and operations of the Advanced Settings function.  It contains the following topics:

Purpose of Advanced Settings     (back to top)

Navigator 2 does not currently support all of the functions of Storage Navigator Modular (SNM), which is a Java applet Graphical User Interface used to manage storage features in older version of the AMS and USP platform. When any of the unsupported functions and storage features are needed, Navigator 2 provides a way to smoothly access SNM through the Advanced Settings Window by launching the Java applet.

Navigator 2 can also manage older arrays such as AMS200/500/1000, WMS100, and Thunder 95xx Series from SNM.  You register these models in Navigator 2 with the Add Array Wizard the same way as you register the newer models.  Once these arrays are registered in the Navigator 2 database, you can use the Advanced Settings window to display and manage the array configuration for those models.

Who Can Use the Advanced Settings Features     (back to top)

Currently, the Navigator 2 Advanced Settings features are accessible only to users on the AMS platform, or for HDS Factory personnel and HDS Support Engineers on the Simple Modular Storage 100 platform.

The Advanced Settings features that are applicable to the array will be provided to users in future releases.

Using the Advanced Settings     (back to top)
