Overview

Password Protection prevents users who do not have the proper permissions from using Navigator 2 to access any storage arrays on the network.  It is also used to prevent simultaneous access to an array by more than one user at a time.

Changing a Password

  1. In the Array List window, click the name of the array on which you want to set password protection. Since password protection is set, the login dialog box for the array is displayed.

  1. In the Explorer tree of the Array Properties window,  click Settings > Password Protection. The Password Protection window is displayed. It includes a table that lists the user IDs of the registered users of Navigator 2.

  2. In the Password Protection window, select one or more users whose passwords you want to change and check the box Change Password.

  3. Enter a new password for each selected user. You can use from 4 to 12 alphanumeric characters and symbols including:dashes, commas, and underbars ( "-", "_").

  4. Click OK to save the changes.  Navigator 2 displays a message window that shows the results of the operation.
