This help page provides information to guide you through the procedure to manage licence keys for program products. It contains the following topics:
The licenses window displays the name, type, and status of each installed license for the SMS and AMS storage features installed on the array.. Note that these storage features may be referred to as "Program Products" in related SMS or AMS documents.
To display the licenses:
In the Array List window, either click the name of the array for which you want to display the licences, or click the next to the name and then click Show and Configure Array. The Array Properties window and explorer tree for the selected array are displayed.
In the Explorer tree, expand the Settings menu and click Licenses. The Licenses window is displayed.
To change the status of a license from enabled to disabled or from disabled to enabled:
Click the next to the name of the license (same name as the software applications) and then click Change Status at the bottom of the Licenses window. The Change License dialog box is displayed.
In the Change License dialog box, select the check box to enable the selected license, or deselect the to disable the selected license.
Click OK to save the changes. When the changes have been saved, Navigator 2 displays a message box stating that the status change has been completed
Click Close to close the dialog box and return to the licenses window.
Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each license listed in the Licenses window.
To install a license key:
Obtain the license key file(s) or key code(s) from your reseller or from HDS Technical Support, as specified in your sales and support agreement.
Copy the file(s) or key(s) to the array that will use them or to the storage management console (system).
In the Arrays window, select the array for which the license(s) were created and click Show and Configure Array. The window for the selected array is displayed.
In the Common Array Task area, click Install License. The Install License dialog box is displayed.
In the Install License dialog box, select the type of license to install: either Key File or directly entering the Key Code in the Key Code field .
To install a key file, either enter the path to the file or click Browse to locate the file.
To use a key code, click Key Code and enter the key combination to install the license.
Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog box,

NOTE: When you click OK, Navigator 2 reads the contents of the key file. If the contents are valid, Navigator 2 installs the license and closes he dialog box. If the contents are not valid, Navigator 2 displays an error message saying that the contents of he file are invalid, and displays a warning message. |
To remove a license:
Disable the license. See Changing the Status of a License above.
Click Deinstall License. The De-Install License dialog box is displayed.
In the Key Code field, enter the key code that was used to install the license and click OK. A message box stating the license has bee uninstalled is displayed.
Click Close to exit the message box and return to the Licenses window..
