Welcome to the Hitachi Storage Navigator Modular Graphical User Interface (GUI) Online Help System  This information is intended to support administrators responsible for understanding, configuring,  and maintaining the Hitachi TagmaStore® Adaptable Modular Storage and Workgroup Modular Storage storage systems. Internet Explorer Settings

When using Internet Explorer, if this Online Help System or any of the HTML help pages take approximately 30 seconds to load and display,  follow the instructions below to disable DDE in Internet Explorer.  This corrects the problem.

Note:  This procedure is not required when using Netscape, or if using Netscape and then using Internet Explorer afterward, as long as you do not use the Internet Explorer default settings.  This is because Netscape automatically disables DDE.

  1. Log on to your system as Administrator.

  2. Launch the Control Panel.  Select  Start->Settings->Control Panel.

  3. Select Folder Options to display the Folder Options dialog box.

  4. In the dialog box, select the File Types tab.

  5. In the File Types tab, select HTM (press the h key to speed up getting to the selection).

  6. In the File Types tab, select Advanced to display the Edit File Type dialog box.

  7. In the Actions browser box, select Open.

  8. Click the Edit function button at the right side of the dialog box. The Editing Action for Type dialog box is displayed.

  9. Un-check the Use DDE to disable DDE.

  10. Click Save to save the setting and close the dialog box.

  11. Click OK to save the settings and close the Edit File Type dialog box.

  12. Click Close in the Folder Options dialog box.

  13. Close the Control Panel.
