AIX ODM User Guide

The AIX ODM software is classified into the AIX ODM for MPIO (a component applicable to MPIO multipathing), the AIX ODM for MPIO RTE (a component applicable to installing the AIX operating system in the RTE deployment mode of Network Installation Management (NIM)), and the AIX ODM for Non-MPIO (a component applicable to non-MPIO multipathing), which are stored in the MPIO directory, the MPIO_RTE directory, and the Non-MPIO directory, respectively.

AIX ODM for MPIO:
It enables the MPIO delivered with an AIX system to correctly take over Huawei storage devices, and it also provides basic functions such as hiding physical disks and generating virtual disks. However, the AIX ODM for MPIO cannot switch over the working controller of a LUN. For details, see the user guide.

AIX ODM for MPIO RTE:
It enables the MPIO delivered with an AIX system to correctly take over Huawei storage devices, and it also provides basic functions such as hiding physical disks and generating virtual disks. However, the AIX ODM for MPIO RTE cannot switch over the working controller of a LUN. In addition, the AIX ODM for MPIO RTE automatically deletes the disks in the defined state generated when the AIX operating system is installed in the RTE deployment mode of Network Installation Management (NIM). This software package provides customized functions. To use this software package, contact Huawei R&D engineers. For details, see the user guide.

AIX ODM for Non-MPIO:
It enables an AIX system to correctly identify Huawei storage devices, and it configures disk properties of Huawei storage devices. The AIX ODM for Non-MPIO does not provide the multipathing function. For details, see the user guide.
