How to Recover Login Passwords of WLAN ACs and APs | What Are Their Default User Names and Passwords?

Introduction

This document describes the default user names and passwords of WLAN devices and provides the detailed password recovery method for different passwords. If you forget the login password, refer to this document to recover your password.

Prerequisites

You need to know how to log in to a device through the console port or Bluetooth serial port.

Logging In to the Device Through the Console Port

  1. Prepare a console cable.
  2. Install the terminal emulation software on your PC.

You can use the built-in terminal emulation software on the PC. If no built-in terminal emulation software is available, use the third-party terminal emulation software by referring to the software user guide or online help.

  3. Connect the PC to the console port of the device through a serial cable. Specifically, insert the DB9 connector of the serial cable into the 9-pin/-hole serial port on the PC, and insert the RJ45 connector into the console port on the device.
  4. Start the terminal emulation program on the PC. Create a connection, select the connection serial port, and set communication parameters.

The parameter settings are as follows:

    • Bits per second (B): 9600
    • Data bits (D): 8
    • Parity (P): None
    • Stop bits (S): 1
    • Flow control (F): None
Table 1-1 lists the default settings of the console port on the device.
Table 1-1 Default settings for the console port on the device

  5. Press Enter, and then type the password or both the user name and password as prompted.

Logging In to an AP Through the Bluetooth Serial Port

  1. In the Bluetooth coverage of an AP, enable Bluetooth on the user terminal and start the CloudCampus APP.
  2. Choose Tool > Manufacturer Customization, and enable Bluetooth Serial Port.
  3. Find the target AP based on the MAC address and touch Connect.
  4. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter the pairing code 123456 and touch OK.

When the message "Successful connection" is displayed, touch Enter. The AP login page is displayed.

The pairing code is required only for mobile terminals running Android 9.0 or later. For mobile terminals running versions earlier than Android 9.0, the pairing code is not required, and they will automatically connect to the AP after you touch Connect.

  5. Enter the user name and password as prompted to log in to the user interface.

If the login dialog box is not displayed after you touch Enter, touch any key on the terminal keyboard to activate the screen.

Default User Names and Passwords for WLAN ACs and APs

The default username and password are available in WLAN Default Usernames and Passwords (Enterprise Network or Carrier). If you have not obtained the access permission of the document, see Help on the website to find out how to obtain it.

After logging in to the device using the default user name and password, change the password and keep it carefully.

If you forget all passwords and the device has a Default button, hold down the button more than 3s to recover the device configuration. The user name and password of the device are then reset to the default values; if the device has no Default button, please contact technical support personnel.

Changing the Password of a Fit AP on an AC

A Fit AP supports only one local user account, which can be a console, Telnet, SSH, or web account.

If the password of an online Fit AP on an AC is lost, change the password or restore the default password as follows:

  • Run the ap username command on the AC to configure a new user name and password, and deliver the configuration to the Fit AP.
  • Run the undo ap username command on the AC to restore the default user name and password, and deliver the configuration to the Fit AP.

After the preceding operations are performed, the AC automatically delivers the modified user name and password to all Fit APs managed by it. The delivered configuration takes effect on all APs.

  • Change the password of the current user on the AP.
