1
00:00:06,559 --> 00:00:08,720
Welcome to Linux
Fundamentals, 3rd Edition.

2
00:00:09,300 --> 00:00:13,990
In this class you will build solid knowledge about
the topics that are required to work with Linux efficiently.

3
00:00:15,009 --> 00:00:20,113
No matter if you're looking at the skills required
to work with Linux daily, you're preparing for one

4
00:00:20,113 --> 00:00:25,216
of the Linux exams or you just need to
work with Linux. Incidentally, this course has you covered

5
00:00:25,216 --> 00:00:30,320
to make it easy to focus on the topics
you need. This course is organized in different modules.

6
00:00:30,940 --> 00:00:33,520
In the first module
you learn about Linux essentials.

7
00:00:34,619 --> 00:00:38,149
Don't miss it if you're completely new
to Linux, as it covers tasks that

8
00:00:38,149 --> 00:00:41,679
you should always know about no matter
what you're going to do with Linux.

9
00:00:42,780 --> 00:00:47,289
The second module teaches how to
work on essential administration tasks, and in

10
00:00:47,289 --> 00:00:51,799
the third module you'll be introduced
to topics related to operating running systems.

11
00:00:52,630 --> 00:00:58,740
In module four, you'll learn about advanced topics which are
not typically the skills required for your daily work with

12
00:00:58,740 --> 00:01:04,849
Linux, but skills important enough to include in this course.
To make sure you have a complete overview of this

13
00:01:04,849 --> 00:01:10,959
flexible operating system, you will notice that learning Linux
is all about getting to know the required commands.

14
00:01:11,799 --> 00:01:15,574
To help make that easier, all of
the lessons have a command review video where

15
00:01:15,574 --> 00:01:19,349
I will give you a short overview
of all the commands learned in that lesson.

16
00:01:20,090 --> 00:01:22,790
Before we get started, let me
tell you a bit about myself.

17
00:01:23,810 --> 00:01:26,060
My name is Sandro van
Vucht and I'm from the Netherlands.

18
00:01:26,700 --> 00:01:30,670
I'm an instructor and author of courses
covering a wide range of open source topics.

19
00:01:31,689 --> 00:01:35,490
My focus is on
Linux containers and Kubernetes,

20
00:01:35,490 --> 00:01:39,290
system automation with ansible
and hosting AI applications.

21
00:01:40,590 --> 00:01:46,500
I'm also the founder of the Living Open
Source Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps African countries

22
00:01:46,500 --> 00:01:52,409
with the introduction of open source knowledge and
and skills by providing free education to local students.

23
00:01:53,450 --> 00:01:57,000
Now that you know what this course is
all about, let's wait no longer and get started.
