Redirecting APs

APs can be redirected to a specific controller upon discovery, after a successful association. In addition, individual APs can be redirected to a specific controller using a MAC address, or redirected in a group from a Layer 3 subnet.

AP Redirect by MAC

The AP MAC address is used as an index in this controller redirect table, and is associated
with the name of the Destination Controller for the redirection. Follow these steps to redirect an AP by its MAC address:

  1. Click Configuration > Devices > Redirect > AP Redirect by MAC > Add.
  2.  Provide an AP MAC address and a Destination Controller IP Address.
  3. Click OK.

AP Redirect by Subnet

All APs in a Layer 3 subnet can be redirected as a group to a specific controller upon discovery, after a successful association. The AP IP/subnet address is used as an index in this controller redirect table, and is associated with the name of the destination controller for redirection. Follow these steps to redirect an AP using its subnet:
  1. Click Configuration > Devices > Redirect > AP Redirect by Subnet > Add.
  2. Provide an AP IP Subnet address and an AP Netmask address.
  3. Provide the IP address of the Destination Controller.
  4. Click OK.
