GRE Tunnel Configuration - Add
(requires Level 10 permission)
Use the GRE Configuration - Add page (Configuration > Wired > GRE) to create a Generic Routing
Encapsulation Tunnel to a remote
location.
Configure the following GRE tunnel parameters:
- In the GRE Name box, type the name of the GRE tunnel. This is a required,
arbitrary name and it can be up to 32
alphanumeric characters long. It cannot contain spaces.
- In the Remote External Address boxes, type the IP address of the remote
end of the GRE tunnel.
- In the Tunnel IP Address boxes, type the IP address for the local end of the GRE
tunnel.
- In the Tunnel IP Netmask boxes, type the netmask for the local IP
address.
- In the Local External FastEthernet Index box, type the interface ID (1 or
2; interface 2 requires configuration) of the FastEthernet interface that the tunnel
will use.
- In the Override Default DHCP Server Flag list, select one of the
following:
- On: Enable use of specified DHCP server (see step
7) rather than the global DHCP server configured for the controller.
- Off: Disable usage of specified DHCP server and return to using
global DHCP server configured for the controller.
- In the DHCP Server IP Address boxes, type the IP address of the DHCP
relay server.
- Click OK
to save changes and exit the GRE Configuration-Add page.
Now create an ESS for the GRE configuration that you just added:
- Click the ESS link in the Wireless group on the Navigation Bar
to configure an ESS profile for use with the GRE Tunnel.
- Click Add to open the ESS Profile - Add window.
- Create the ESS profile as normal.
- In the Tunnel Interface Type drop-down list, select the option GRE.
- In the GRE Profile Tunnel Name, select the name of the GRE profile
created in Step 1 above.
- Click OK to save the GRE ESS profile and exit the window.
