Antenna Property - Update
(requires Level 10 permission)
Use this page to do update the antenna properties:
- In the RF Band list, select the radio band that this antenna uses:
- In the Link Type list, select how the links are made:
- Point-to-Point (There
are some subtle regulatory differences at very high gains, between omni
and ptp, but as of yet, we do not enforce these. This is
currently not used and should be ignored. )
- Point-to-Multi-point
- In the Antenna Type list, select one of the following for the type of
antenna this AP200 uses:
- External (default)
- External Dual-Mode External Dual Mode means that you’re using an antenna that is appropriate for both
2.4 and 5 GHz, which covers 99% of today’s antennas. If you use 2.4 or 5
GHz band specific antenna’s you should select External and choose the
appropriate RF-Band value. The antenna Type and
RF-band are compared with the radio configuration. If you
configure a 5Ghz (not dual mode) antenna and try to configure the radio
for BG, that causes an error.
- RS-Antenna is no longer used in release 4.1
- In the 2.4GHz Antenna Gain text box, add an integer between 0 and 30 for
the amount of antenna gain, if this antenna is in use. Note that the value
for Antenna Gain cannot exceed the local power setting in the Dot11 physical
configuration. (For example, if local power is 12, the maximum antenna
gain would be 12dbi.) Also note that transmit power for Meru APs is
defined as the EIRP1 (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power) at the antenna and
includes the antenna gain.
- In the 5GHz Antenna Gain text box, add an integer between 0 and 30 for the
amount of antenna gain, if this antenna is in use. Note that the value for
Antenna Gain cannot exceed the local power setting in the Dot11 physical
configuration. (For example, if local power is 12, the maximum antenna
gain would be 12dbi.) Also note that transmit power for Meru APs is
defined as the EIRP1 (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power) at the antenna and
includes the antenna gain.
