QoS and Firewall Rule Details

The following table (located at Configuration > QoS > System Settings) lists the QoS rule information you can review.

ID Unique numeric identifier for the QoS rule
ID Flow Class Unique numeric identifier for the QoS rule. Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Destination IP Destination IP address, in conjunction with a destination subnet mask, used as criteria for matching the QoS rule
Destination IP match Destination IP address, in conjunction with a destination subnet mask, used as criteria for matching the QoS rule. Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Destination IP flow class Destination IP address, in conjunction with a destination subnet mask, used as criteria for matching the QoS rule. Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Destination Netmask  Subnet mask for the destination IP address
Destination Port  Destination TCP or UDP port used as criteria for matching the QoS rule (zero specifies any port)
Destination Port match Destination TCP or UDP port used as criteria for matching the QoS rule (zero specifies any port). Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Destination Port flow class Destination TCP or UDP port used as criteria for matching the QoS rule (zero specifies any port). Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Source IP Source IP address, in conjunction with a destination subnet mask, used as criteria for matching the QoS rule
Source IP match Source IP address, in conjunction with a destination subnet mask, used as criteria for matching the QoS rule. Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Source IP flow class Source IP address, in conjunction with a destination subnet mask, used as criteria for matching the QoS rule. Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Source Netmask Subnet mask of the source IP address
Source Port Subnet mask of the source IP address. Source TCP or UDP port used as criteria for matching the QoS rule (zero specifies any port)
Source Port match* Subnet mask of the source IP address. Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Source Port flow class Subnet mask of the source IP address. Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Net Protocol Network protocol: Determines whether the flow is TCP or UDP
  • 17=UDP
  • 6=TCP
If you are using a QoS protocol detector, you must match the network protocol with the type of QoS protocol:
  • UDP: SIP
  • TCP: H.323
  • TCP: SCCP
Net Protocol match Network protocol: Determines whether the flow is TCP or UDP
  • 17=UDP
  • 6=TCP
If you are using a QoS protocol detector, you must match the network protocol with the type of QoS protocol:
  • UDP: SIP
  • TCP: H.323
  • TCP: SCCP

Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.

Net Protocol flow class Network protocol: Determines whether the flow is TCP or UDP
  • 17=UDP
  • 6=TCP
If you are using a QoS protocol detector, you must match the network protocol with the type of QoS protocol:
  • UDP: SIP
  • TCP: H.323
  • TCP: SCCP

Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.

Firewall Filter ID   Specifies the filter-ID in use (per-user or per-ESS), if Per-User Firewall configuration is enabled (optional feature). This ID must be between 1 and 16 characters.
Firewall Filter ID match Specifies the filter-ID in use (per-user or per-ESS), if Per-User Firewall configuration is enabled (optional feature). This ID must be between 1 and 16 characters.Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Firewall Filter ID flow class Specifies the filter-ID in use (per-user or per-ESS), if Per-User Firewall configuration is enabled (optional feature). This ID must be between 1 and 16 characters.Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Packet minimum length The size of the minimum packet length needed to match the rule
Packet Length match The size of the minimum packet length needed to match the rule. Match flag is enabled. For a description of matching, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Packet Length flow class The size of the minimum packet length needed to match the rule. Flow class is enabled. For a description of flow classes, see Modify a Qos Rule.
Packet maximum length The size of the maximum packet length needed to match the rule.
QoS Protocol
  • SIP
  • H.323
  • SCCP
  • Other
  • None
Action Specifies what the rule does with packets:
  • Forward: A flow is given an explicit resource request, bypassing the QoS protocol detector and regardless of whether a QoS protocol was specified.
  • Capture: The system, using a QoS protocol detector, analyzes the flow for its resource requirements.
  • Drop: The flow is dropped.
Drop Policy Identifies what happens to packets that arrive when the queue is full:
  • Head: New packets that arrive after the queue has reached its maximum length are allowed in the queue, and old information in the queue is replaced with the new information.
  • Tail: New packets that arrive after the queue has reached its maximum length are dropped.
Token Bucket Rate
Priority
Traffic Control
Diffserv Codepoint
Qos Rule Logging Specifies whether QoS rule activity logging is off or on.
Qos Rule Logging Frequency Specifies the logging interval in which logs related to this rule are updated,  if QoS Logging is enabled. The interval must be a number between 30 and 60.
