System Director starts with the Monitor component active and the Dashboard, which contains real-time performance and alarm information, displayed in the center pane.
Clicking one of the buttons on the left-side navigation pane provides access to the Configuration or Maintenance areas. When the button is clicked, it moves down in the list, and its submenus display. Configuration changes made are saved to the running configuration and must be saved to the startup configuration file if you want the changes to be persistent after a controller reboot.
