2.3.8.2
Telephone number selection
In order to ensure the unambiguous assignment of telephone numbers in DTB, the following must be observed when entering data using OpenScape 4000 Manager / Assistant:
If the same telephone number is given out more than once within the system, the subscriber who is to be directly displayed on the telephone by DTB must be entered first. This applies to calling number display as well as searching for telephone numbers. The "Position" field will be automatically preset to 0 for the first entry.
For each additional subscriber, this field is automatically incremented by 1, which means that these subscribers will only be evaluated in DTB for name searches (alphabetic search and fast search).
NOTE:
The unambiguous display of telephone numbers in DTB is guaranteed only if the subscriber to be displayed is configured in the OpenScape 4000 Manager/Assistant with either no value or 0 in the Position field. When subscribers are deleted on the OpenScape 4000 Manager/Assistant this field is not updated automatically.
NOTE:
After synchronization, the common directory (NAM file) always contains all name entries, while the RNR file contains only the name entries that have either 0 or a space character in the "Position" field.
If the Common Directory (NAM file) is edited using PEDIT after a synchronization session and closed by sorting it, the RNR file will be overwritten with all subscribers. In this case, the telephone number selection feature will
not
be supported until after the next synchronization session.
